Where can I get help from an advocate?

The Disability Advocacy Network Australia (DANA) has produced a website to support people with a disability accessing the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

The website aims to provide advocates, including people with disabilities, their families and friends, with the knowledge necessary to achieve good results for people with disabilities, in their interactions with National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA).

It is specifically targeted to provide dedicated and detailed information about the NDIS. The website is Advokit by DANA

Where can I get an advocate specific to people with a vision impairment?

Most specialist providers offer advocacy services.

Blind Citizens Australia offers an individual advocacy service to all Australians with a vision impairment. They have a toolkit available that outlines resources that are available in Western Australia: WA toolkit (DOC).
